Straight from our kitchen

100ml bottles of a selection of homemade Abeno original sauces and cooking ingredients used in our kitchen. Touch up salads and stir-fries, bring surprise condiments to your barbecue, or add extra depth to household favourites like bolognese sauce.

We use brown sugar in all of our sauces to replace refined sugar, and we use organic honey for many of these for a natural sweetness.


About the Sauce Set and Support

Each bottle is, on average, 4-5 servings, and use-by is 14 days to 6 months from day of despatch depending on the sauce. Enough volume to be useful, not so much that you’ll have sauce left over.

We currently offer two sets of either 4 or 5 sauces, one-off or 2 month subscription based (subscription is discounted). Select any of the sauces in any combination (multiples are no problem!) for your desired set.


Shipping

If ordering with a food order, we will deliver them together. If you are looking for it to be shipped to you, please choose the “Sauce Shipping” option at checkout.

If ordering for shipping, please order T-shirts, Sauces and Teas/Confectionery separately so that shipping costs can be calculated correctly. If ordered together, the entire order will be cancelled and refunded.

  • Homemade Abeno Okonomi-Yaki Sauce

    Use by: 1 month from day of despatch

    Our own blend of Okonomi-Yaki sauce used at the restaurant. Add depth to your casserole, curries and tomato-based pasta sauces.

    Use as a condiment for fish & chips, chicken katsu, fish fingers and Japanese-style burgers.

  • Homemade Ponzu Soy Sauce

    Use by: 1 month from day of despatch

    A citrus based soy sauce with a refreshingly tangy taste. Good for boiled vegetables and fish. Nice also simply on steamed rice.

  • Homemade Sushi Rice Sauce

    Use by: 1 month from day of despatch

    Put on some boiled/steamed plain rice to make sushi rice. Easy to make, just roll up into a small ball or roll up with nori seaweed. Also can be used as a tangy dressing for a light summer salad.

  • Homemade Gyoza Sauce

    Use by: 1 month from day of despatch

    Just use as a dipping sauce. Any takeaway gyoza can be transformed into a really tasty dish!

    INGREDIENTS: SOY SAUCE (water, soybeans, wheat, salt, alcohol), MIRIN (water, glucose syrup, glutinous rice, distilled alcohol (ABV 13.5-14.5%)), PONZU (citrus fruits, sugar, glucose syrup, salt, acidity regulator, amino acids, flavouring, colouring), honey, kelp, sesame oil

  • Mirin

    Use by: 6 months from day of despatch

    A sweet rice wine and a key ingredient in Japanese cooking. Use to get a subtle sweetness and boost umami levels.

    INGREDIENTS: Water, glucose syrup, glutinous rice, distilled alcohol (ABV 13.5-14.5%)


  • Homemade Garlic Soy Sauce

    Use by: 6 months from day of despatch

    Soy sauce and garlic matured for a minimum of 1 month. Sauté some vegetables and finish with this sauce with a knob of butter to get a wonderful aroma. Also use a little of this in your home cooking to give it a secret umami flavour.

  • Homemade Teri-Yaki Sauce

    Use by: 1 month from day of despatch

    Use for grilled fish and meat to make them into teriyaki. Great with grilled vegetables as well. This is what is used for our Pork and Ginger dish in the delivery menu.

  • Homemade Salad Dressing

    Use by: 14 days from day of despatch

    Good on any type of fresh greens. Only a little oil is used in our recipe making it great as a healthy alternative.

  • Homemade Sesame Sauce *Highly Recommended*

    Use by: 14 days from day of despatch

    One of our most asked-after sauces in the restaurant, a creamy sesame-based dressing. Pour on any boiled vegetables (e.g. beans, broccoli, carrots and potatoes). Good on any kind of cooked meat as well.

    INGREDIENTS: Sesame, GARLIC SOY SAUCE (water, soybeans, wheat, salt, alcohol), garlic), rice vinegar, brown sugar, MAYONNAISE (vegetable oil (rapeseed oil, soybean oil), pasteurised egg yolk, vinegar (contains gluten), salt, flavour enhancer (E621), spice (mustard flour), spice extract (mustard oil)

  • Cooking Sake

    Use by: 6 months from day of despatch

    Not for drinking! But good for cooking, replacing wine. Packed with umami and also reduces any fishy and meaty smells.
